Project Scope:
For the first time in Iran, the project of implementation mass balance system to control the productivity in refineries was accomplished by this company in fifth refinery of south pars. In this project with focusing on mass balance system and correction of operation data, a new methodology of mass balance and data evaluation presented for fifth refinery of south pars complex and therefore the results of this project were reported and investigated.
A general and dynamic mass balance system is an essential require in oil and gas complexes. This system would help the process manager and experts, especially after start up of operation units and supporting them, which would give data from process efficiency, production output, raw material and energy consumption. Accurate and correct implementation of this system would result in reduce the production costs, increasing the efficiency, improve the production quality and specially avoiding environment hazardous limits with process optimization. In many large industries, such as oil, gas and petrochemical there are systems to balance each unit’s mass and whole complex, but these systems are not accurate and reliable in input and output, while accuracy of generated data is so important to management because of the above reasons, that may cause to inaccurate decisions and cause damages and finally cause great damages.
